APRIL 1: April Fool’s Day & MLB Opening Day
Oh the fun spirit of a good ol’ April Fool’s Day playful prank. Time to unleash your creative, silly side and attempt a fun practical joke. And of course, don’t forget to let the kids in on the fun!
If pulling pranks isn’t your style, there is still reason to celebrate on Thursday April 1. It’s Opening Day! All 30 MLB teams will take to the field promising an exciting day (and 162 game season) of America’s favorite pastime.
APRIL 2: National Peanut Butter and Jelly Day
Peanut…peanut butter and jelly! You probably have plenty of cooking and/or baking to do for your Easter celebration this weekend. So take it easy today with a picnic style lunch and serve up the elegantly simple, loved by many, PB&J sandwich.
For even more fun, delight your kiddos by cutting your PB&J sandwiches with your favorite spring or Easter cookie cutters.
APRIL 3: World Party Day
An entire day about bringing, spreading and embracing joy. P-day, as it has become known, is all about celebrating however you choose. I’m thinking fun music, delish snacks, lots of laughs, and maybe catching the Final Four sounds like a great day of fun!
APRIL 4: Easter
After a year-long quarantine, I am hopeful this is our last major holiday in isolation so it seems only fitting to plan an Egg-stra Special Easter Celebration.
Dress the family in their Easter best, imbibe in a great meal and delicious desserts. Plan an epic Easter egg hunt, get creative with coloring your Easter Eggs, and above all create some magical moments and family fun. You will love the ideas and inspo from this Easter Party.
And don’t forget to grab your Free Easter printables by joining the MNV Party now.
APRIL 5: National Deep Dish Pizza Day and NCAA National Championship
Chicago Deep Dish Pizza lovers unite, this day is for you. I for one will happily celebrate this joyous occasion because in my book it doesn’t get better than deep dish pizza. Order your fave deep dish pie locally, or get the best of the best delivered straight from Chicago to your doorstep.
And how fun that deep dish pizza day happens to coincide with the NCAA March Madness National Championship Game.
APRIL 6: New Beer’s Eve
Wow! It has already been quite the week with fun and excitement, but it isn’t over yet. Take to the patio for Happy Hour or try a new craft beer.
APRIL 7: National Beer Day
Celebrate with a cold one. National Beer Day celebrates the end of Prohibition so raise a glass and make a toast with America’s most popular bar drink.
APRIL 8: National Empanada Day
APRIL 9: National Unicorn Day
Girl Moms unite with this super fun holiday that you may or may not be familiar with. The unicorn is a symbol of happiness, fantasy and wonder. Celebrate with some fun, sweet treats or play dress up.
APRIL 10: National Siblings Day
April 10 is a day to celebrate the love and support from your siblings. Send a text, write a letter, post funny or meaningful moments on social media, or plan to get together if you can.
APRIL 11: National Pet Day
Celebrate your favorite furry friend on April 11 with some extra loving and maybe even a special treat or gift.
APRIL 12: National Grilled Cheese Sandwich Day
A shocking 87% of Americans like a grilled cheese sandwich, so celebrate the beloved sandwich and all its ooey-gooey deliciousness. The classic, simple melted cheese between crispy bread never disappoints. But today, you can find crazy variations to try at home or turn to the internet to find the best grilled cheese in your town.
APRIL 13: National Peach Cobbler Day
Enjoy a sweet taste of the South and might I suggest you serve it warm with 2 scoops of vanilla ice cream.
APRIL 14: National Gardening Day
Y’all let’s make up a new holiday for this day because it is of course Tax Day…ick. And National Laundry Day, which sounds even worse to me (double ick). It also happens to be National High Five Day, but I’m thinking we may wanna skip that this year, until we are completely in the clear from the C word.
Just join the official MNV After Party to keep the fun going.
APRIL 16: National Eggs Benedict Day
APRIL 17: Husband Appreciation Day
Show a little extra appreciation and love for the hubby on this little known holiday.
APRIL 18: National Animal Crackers Day
APRIL 19: National Garlic Day
It seems Italian is on the menu for tonight’s dinner.
APRIL 20: National Pineapple Upside-Down Cake Day
APRIL 21: Administrative Professionals Day
APRIL 22: National Jelly Bean Day
In case you didn’t get your fill of Easter candy, you can probably still find some Jelly Beans at a deep discount to celebrate. Or if you really wanna take things up a notch try your luck with the Jelly Belly Beanboozled game. Will you get rotten egg or buttered popcorn? You won’t know until you try!
APRIL 23: National Picnic Day
Grab the blanket and basket, pack a picnic and hit the park for some family fun.
APRIL 24: National Pigs in a Blanket Day
APRIL 25: National Hairstylist Day
Don’t forget to show some appreciation to the gal who helps keep you beautiful.
APRIL 26: National Pretzel Day
Pinterest would be a great place to turn for a new recipe or idea to elevate the everyday pretzel. Or plan soft pretzels with fun dips for dinner, just don’t forget the cheese, (because #quesoislife). Or head out for a fun afternoon snack like Auntie Anne’s who will have special deals for you.
APRIL 27: National Prime Rib Day
Sounds like a great excuse to try that new Steakhouse you have been wanting to try.
APRIL 28: National Superhero Day
This has the makings for all the fun, but Boy Moms especially better be ready. Play dress up, create some cute snacks or desserts, or plan an epic movie night with the latest (or greatest) superhero film.
APRIL 29: National Shrimp Scampi Day
APRIL 30: National Bubble Tea Day
I have a confession, I have yet to try this. But there seems like no better excuse than now to give one a try.
How will you make April Amazing?
Of course, you may not want to celebrate every single one of these super fun, sometimes silly occasions. But I hope this list will inspire you to pick a few of your faves and have a little extra fun this month.
Easter will likely be the highlight of April. But I believe you can spread cheer and joy, create happiness in your home and in your heart when you can celebrate the everyday too!
So go out there…create some magical moments and meaningful memories. And, just have a little more fun my friend.
